Well it's 2 in the morning on the 20th of July... and I'm not at first place for the term "PointenSlutten".

The Wonders of PointenSlutten

It makes you wonder, doesn't it? The page has more content and links to relevant sites than any other.... yet it's on a subdomain. So of course it doesn't rank as high as the blog, or as high as sites which feautre mainly gibberish with the one "pointenslutten" word of any relevance in its content. Makes you wonder about the Search Engines.... I'm talking about the page on http://www.internetsexnetwork.com called pointen_slutten.htm . That page has this - which is out of date but still useful, I think:

Well Well Well, PointenSlutten Blog Googled At Last

Yep.

There I am. At number four on page one of Google. Oh, Thumbshots will tell you I'm at five but it's a weird thing...

The PointenSlutten Blog (this blog) IS at #1 on Yahoo though, which is some consolation - there's really only one day left in the contest though.

Which is weird though -seeing as Google seems to do it's thing at some point in the evening, there might still be a chance for me to be at #1 on Goolge the night of the twentieth - depending when they do their pointenslutten search over there at NetPond.

But now that the contest is drawing to an end, I have to sit back and consider all this stuff. The Gurus are always telling and selling us stuff about Google this and Yahoo that... but no one is right in the end. Only Google knows...

I did my link of the top five a little too late to know if it made a difference, though G knows that things have changed in the top five since then... mainly me, heheheh.

Anyhow this is a friendly update. I may or may not change that top five list at iSN, seeing as I am presently there and it would probably be self-defeating to list myself on my own site.

But we'll see, this is free-flow typing and thinking really and I'd like to see who's interested in this developing any further as a SEO forum before I dedicate any time to spell checking myself and constructing full, well-thought-out sentences.

Top Five Google Spots For PointenSlutten Posted!

Well this should be interesting...

Since Google seems to have decided that the ranks of its PointenSlutten keyword results are fine as is, I've decided to update the page at iSN that relates to the subject, as well as adding a top-5 list from the Google results page.

Yes, that's right, I am linking to my contest competitors.

Some people think that if I link to the higher pages on Google I'll just be shooting myself in the foot.

I believe right now the other school of thought will prevail: that if I have sufficient relevant links to other sites (relevant being of course all about pointentslutten) then my page will rank higher, possibly even at #1.

We'll see. The SE doesn't link to this blog directly yet (link dumps and a weird re-direct from another link-dump which has actually ranked higher have been though), so I don't know what to make of it...

I figure the stasis will be broken, the order be shaken, if I link to the top 5 sites on Google for this keyword. Hope I'm right - but with Google even the experts are guessing.

I think that theory might only work with pages that Google gives a high pr (page rank) to, but maybe since they ALL have NO page rank it might give them all the same significance since my iSN Page is "about" all that and none of them are interlinking.

Competition is good, but cooperation can be better.

Besides, since mine has a page rank of 3, and is collecting the most relevant page results - it might be crowned #1 anyway... and all within nine or ten days.

This teaches us all a few things about indexation and Google's ability to see sites. If it's not obvious, I believe I will go into it a little deeper after this PointenSlutten thing has run its course.

Racing to the PointenSlutten Finish... Backwards!

Hell they are neck and neck, the front runners, the back runners, those in the middle and even the sites that are accidentally indexed.

The PointenSlutten SEO contest is frozen in time, nothing having changed for two days while the finish line is two days away.

The drama is obvious from this player's point of vie, but can you cut the suspense with a paper knife - no way! It is just boring...

Very Cool PointenSlutten Ranking Page?

Here's an interesting development. Though Google has still not indexed or ranked my The PointenSlutten Blog (this blog, that is), Yahoo indexes .blogspots (blogs created on Blogger.com) in a jiffy. Which is weird considering that Google and Blogger are one.

Now, in this blog I linked to a darn cool tool called Thumbshots which runs a comparison of the first hundred links generated by a keyword/phrase in two separate search engines and compares them, drawing lines between overlaps and showing position and so on...

So now iSN News and the iSN PointSlutten SEO Contest page are three separate links on a page which Yahoo considers a page and presents as a high-ranking result for the keyword of the contest - this is as of yesterday's SE shuffle.

Now, will Google index that link on Yahoo or here (eventually) and see three distinct links on a PR6 page and decide to rank those three links (which are also highlighted as this was my search parameter) higher than high, maybe even at #1?

I guess we'll see tonight after 9 or 10 pm...
