The Mighty PointenSlutten Have Fallen!

And now that Google has done its nightly run through my neck of the web (about 9:30 pm EST usually) I get to report on the status of the Netpond PointenSlutten competition.

I have fallen to #12 on Google - I say fallen because really I was eleven. Unfortunately one of the linkdumps people use has a redirect and ended up getting first page status on Google, so that was kinda like shooting ourselves in the collective foot.

The number one spot on Google for PointenSlutten was held by topsexgratuit until tonight - when ClickMojo took it over, pushing the french domain down to two.

My iSN News Index page, which carried a link to the Blog and the pointen_slutten page slipped far, far back... to position number 22, which sucks big time.

Oh well, four days left in the contest, four more shuffles of the Google deck and the magic pointenslutten card will come up...

I wonder what the prize is for the winner.

Ah such a silly I was; it was my fault of course.

Anyhow, I won't mention the silly oversite that caused the stupid thing not to work except to say that you shouldn't code when drunk.

So ignore the previous posting and take my word and your mousefinger's evidence to heart - the RSS here is OK.

In other news, traffic is gearing up here on The PointenSlutten Blog, and that's helping out our little iSN News site too.

I'm building up the SEO page to be either a link off of this blog or a part of iSN itself... whichever. Depends how good things get here.

PointenSlutten RSS Won't Work

Weird weird weird. Tried adding my own .xml RSS feed of this blog to My Yahoo account and it couldn't find it. Even If I was pasting the exact url into it.

So I'm adding an "Add to MyYahoo" button to see if that works.

This is really boring I know but it's life in stasis waiting for the next Google Boogie to bump up my PointenSlutten entries closer to if not right at #1.

Well it didn't work. The url is there but I guess if Inktomi didn't slurp it it doesn't exist.

PointenSlutten RSS Feed!

Ok what the heck I've created an RSS feed of this blog. It's a great little tool that requires little coding and cranks your PR on Google and indexability so the basic question must be asked when you're a Webmaster: Why not???

pointenslutten - Qu'est-ce Que C'est?

No news or repeats since the listing. Started at 18 on Google and now my PointenSlutten page on Google is #11 - first at the top of page 2. Not bad, but nowhere close to winner.

For traffic purposes being first on page two is better than being last on page one - or somewhere in the middle. It's just clicker/surfer impulse that makes this so.

It's hard to imaagine human heuristics actually making anything of this but nonetheless even if statistics didn't back that idea, simple intuition does.
But speaking of statistics, and I'd have to look up the source, 60% of clickers click on the first three links of a results page on Google,then it's 30% on results four, five and six.

Then it's a crapshoot apparently. I'll find those stats and post them here. This is all irrelevant for PointenSlutten since it isn't a surfed-for term, but hey this is a PointenSlutten blog.

NB.: this is probably going to become an SEO blog once the contest is done with, so you won't be wasting your bookmark. Any noted idiocies or mistakes I type down here would be appreciated, whether by email or comment. Thanks and have a beautiful day, people.

The PointenSlutten Domain Name!

Dang but that was brilliant - registering the domain name "PointenSlutten.com" at the opening of this contest. Actually I was surprised to find that it hadn't been registered before. My hats off to Headboy, who had his head together on this one.

However PointenSlutten.com is not what it's all about when it comes to the subject. It's a well built, light page with all the right elements except for text, which it's short on. The best thing about it is the "PointenSlutten of the Day" link which unfortunately hasn't been updated since June 29th. Tut tut, Headboy, you should now you'll be spyderbotpinged more often if you just change that info.

Any how I hope to crush them all in my race to Google #1, ethically of course and with utter adult community comaradery and goodwill.

Actually, I was thinking - if you read this Headboy - you should sign the domain name over to whoever wins... unless you've got other plans for it.

PointenSlutten Addendum

Woohoo! My link for this blog is also #2 at Yahoo and AltaVista (of course) according to Thumbshots!

The same is true at something called AllTheWeb, but I don't know that engine but it seems to rely on the Yahoo listings (thumbshots shows parallel listings with hardly overlap...)

Thought anyone following this would be interested.

Look out people Google has found my site page and blog and I went from nowhere to 11 and 12, or the top of page two, for "PointenSlutten".

I must take a bow. And of course remain humble.

There are still six days left in the contest and top of page two is far from #1 on Google.

In fact I was number 25 on Yahoo, jumped to 22 for a bit last night (didn't publish as it didn't seem much of a leap) and then plunked back down to 25 again today...

Oh well. It's a Google contest, so...

So don't be afraid, be very afraid. I can read the headlines now: "2much MediaGuy Wins Netpond SEO Contest with 9 days left to spare!" or some damn thing (and I'll probably write it!!!)

OK more later, I shall now gloat on Netpond... and measure the pulse of the competition...

The Thrill of Ranking, The Agony of PointenSlutten

I don't know... I AM higher on Yahoo, both on Thumbshots and in real life! I went from 45 to 25 since the last post for the key word PointenSlutten in a matter of hours, leaps and bounds above others who've been on to this thing for the last month. Me? I started yesterday.

Here's the interesting Thumbshots ranking link.

Interesting, correct? Very veeeeery interesting. Because if you look above the Yahoo listing in that line, Thumbshots says I'm number EIGHTEEN on Google after less than 48 hours on the SE campaign trail.

Can you imagine how I felt?

Anyone want to hire a search engine ORGANIC optimization expert? I'm available...

But wait, don't look any closer. I mean, don't actually click on the fucking link come on don't do that no not even on the thumbshots-generated 100-long listing because YOU WON'T FIND THE LINK!!!

And if you use my Google/iSN searchbox on internetsexnetwork.com YOU WON'T FIND IT EITHER.

What kind of cruel miscalculation or confusion of search terms is this??? So still no sign of a Google link and yet Thumbshots DOES show that I do...

Hopefully next time I post here there will be more than a fake link up... a weird web mirage fuckingcrap!

Here's a link that show my site's non-existence on Google and it's listing on Yahoo at the same time. It's called "Thumbshots" and I hope iSN News is higher than #45 when you read this!

It's been a day and a half and Google hasn't indexed my Slutten of Pointen efforts.

I even have a freefind results page of the word on my site. (This is the link).

Ah, well 7 days left... there's still time.

I was thinking of helping this out by posting babe pics.

The Introductory PointenSlutten Post

Welcome to my attempt to make some headway in the PointenSlutten SEO contest started at and by Netpond webmaster messageboard.

Just so this is all out in the open, I have also posted this link at iSN News - The Link to Live Video Chat, under, of course, a pointenslutten termed page.

A pointenslutten is someone who posts incessantly and uselessly - except to have whatever ad or banner in his signature appear as often as possible in hopes someone will click and convert on whatever affiliate program said person has joined.

PointenSlutten is a made-up german sounding word on NetPond - created as a variation on Post Whore, the more prevalent term for someone who posts and says nothing more than "Wow", "Gosh", or "Good picture". Useless posts.

Much like what this blog will probably be. It's just for the contest - but who knows maybe something more will come of this.
